in preparation of the Winterball of Saarland University

Fabian Suchanek

This is a one-time class that will take place on Friday, 27th of January 2012, 16:00-20:00, in room 024 at the Max-Planck Institute for Informatics in Saarbrücken / Germany.

For whom is this class?

This class is for people who have already some experience with ballroom dancing and who wish to refresh their knowledge. The class is particularly targeted as a preparation for the Winterball, the dancing event of Saarland University on January 28th, 2012; but anybody with a bit of dancing experience is welcome to join.

If you plan to come, please shoot me a mail at fabian@{lastname}.name and let me know your preferences and background. Thanks.

What will you teach?

There will be two sessions:
  1. 16:00-17:45: Waltz and Viennese Waltz, Discofox
  2. 18:00-20:00: Foxtrott, Tango, Jive
This scheduling cannot be guaranteed and depends on the participants!

You are welcome to join us for whatever session you prefer or to both.

What is the level of the class?

Both sessions are on beginner level for people who have had some experience with ballroom dancing. Particular emphasis will be put on posture, style, and the "right" dancing.

Do I need a dancing partner?

It would be good to come with a dancing partner. We will shuffle dancing partners in the class.

What will the course cost me?

Nothing. The course is free.

In what language is the course being held?

If all people speak German, in German; otherwise in English.

Who is giving the course?

That's me, Fabian Suchanek ( http://suchanek.name).

So are you a professional dancing teacher?

No. I am not a professional dancing teacher. You get what you're paying for ;-)

Is this course something official?

No. This course is a private project, for which I got permission from the Max-Planck Institute.

Note that the course is provided AS IS; there are no guarantees whatsoever. We cannot guarantee that the class will be professional, perfect or even held at all! There are simply no guarantees! You take this course on your own risk! (There have been only very few fatal accidents in the past, though).
